ResourcesVA math
Two ratings do not add up the way you expect
A 50% rating plus a 30% rating makes 70%, not 80%. The VA rates the “whole person”: each condition takes its percent of whatever is left, and the result rounds to the nearest 10 (38 CFR § 4.25). Enter your ratings below and watch the number form. Nothing you type here is saved or sent anywhere.
Your ratings
Add each rated condition. Names are optional and stay on your screen. Check “paired” on conditions that affect both sides of the body (both knees, both ears): the VA adds a 10% bonus to that pair (38 CFR § 4.26).
