Our people
BeneVets is governed by a volunteer board and run by an unpaid founding team, all working toward one thing: keeping veterans benefits free to find and free to file.
Governance
Five volunteer directors hold the mission steady.

Board Chair
Retired Marine Corps Colonel. Eric led Marines from rifle platoon to battalion command across 28 years of service, including Ramadi in 2005, and now serves as Chief Operating Officer of ELIXIR MD in Orange County.

Treasurer
Callie is a mortgage consultant with nearly seven years of experience helping families achieve homeownership, and a graduate of the Fox School of Business at Temple University. Her husband recently retired from the Army after 23 years of service, so she knows firsthand how hard it can be for veterans to find and use the benefits they earned.

Secretary
Harish is a digital marketing entrepreneur who co-founded The Blitz Agency after a decade building brands and growth systems, from his own agency to national names in technology, consumer goods, and media. A graduate of the USC Marshall School of Business, he puts that go-to-market expertise toward reaching more veterans with the benefits they earned.

Director and Medical Advisor
Prana is a certified physician assistant who earned her PA degree at Stanford University and is completing a Doctor of Medical Science degree at Marshall B. Ketchum University. Twenty-two years a Marine spouse, she brings a clinical perspective to how BeneVets explains health care and disability benefits.

Director and Chief Technology Officer
Ian is a design-build and construction operations executive with two decades of experience leading large capital programs for healthcare, research, industrial, and federal clients. He has directed operations and infrastructure, managed delivery and workflow across multidisciplinary teams, and coordinated design, activation, and client leadership on programs reaching into the billions. Today he leads project management and operational control for a construction company, has spent more than a decade running and managing technology and software companies, products, and programs, and is the founder and managing partner of an advisory firm that helps companies scale: running their operations and projects, building the technology behind them, and coaching the executives who lead them. He joined the BeneVets board in May 2026 and serves as its chief technology officer.
Leadership

Executive
Chief Executive Officer and Founder
Walter is a Marine machine gunner who served three combat tours in Iraq, then earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and spent twenty years leading operations, four of them as a chief operating officer. He founded BeneVets after his father, a retired Air Force captain who spent his career researching veterans health at the VA, filed for help and waited months while none came. Walter runs the nonprofit unpaid, so no veteran waits the way his father did.

Executive
Chief Technology Officer
Ian is not a veteran. "I wish I could have been," he says. He has known the BeneVets team for years, and while veteran services are not his background, he spent the better part of two decades in project and product management, running design-build and construction operations on large healthcare, research, industrial, and federal programs, and more than a decade of that running and managing technology and software companies, products, and programs. He accepted the CTO role in May 2026 to see the project through to its goal and hold it there for as long as he is part of it. As CTO he builds the team, sets the direction for the platform, and is the last signature before anything reaches a veteran. The goal is no man or family left behind: find veterans and their families wherever they are, identify every option and benefit available to them, and get them to the people who can help. He knows this process has been hard on veterans for years, and that many groups are already working to make it better. BeneVets is a team that has managed operations and workflows at scale, coming to see what it can do for friends and family across the country.
