  2. The General Caregiver Support Program is open to all eras; includes counseling and training.
  3. If your parent is low-income with in-home care needs, apply for Aid and Attendance.

Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC)

Provides monthly stipends, health insurance, mental health services, respite care, and caregiver training to primary family caregivers of eligible veterans with serious injuries or illnesses.

Available to caregivers of veterans with serious injury/illness incurred or aggravated on or after 5/7/1975

Education, peer support, and coaching resources for caregivers of all enrolled veterans regardless of era, including the REACH VA program and caregiver support coordinators at every VA medical center.
